Asking for Help

Sometimes I forget that I'm not alone on this planet. I decide on something I want to accomplish, then think I've got to do it all myself. The truth is that there are tons of people all around me who are glad to lend a hand. In fact, the things I like to do the least are often easy and fun for someone else. Asking for help is a great gift to those around us. The most important thing for any of us is having the feeling that we're making a contribution. When we ask others to help us, we're giving them an opportunity to contribute, which makes them feel useful.

Think of the things you've been putting off because some aspect of the task is objectionable to you. Then, think of someone you know who LOVES doing that thing. Ask them if they'd like to help you, and watch what happens. Eventually, you'll be able to return the favor by helping them do something they hate that you enjoy.
